DURATION
Research studies documenting good outcomes for children involved in intensive early behavioral intervention have typically been based on programs which lasted for one to two years. The most compelling long-term outcomes data come from programs that lasted two years or longer.
The optimum number of intensive behavioral intervention's hours as shown in the specialized researches, varies between 20-40/week. Therefore, the program will not establish a minimum or specific duration for the intensive behavioural intervention, but it will adjust accordingly to the child and his needs.
The finish of the program and the transition planns will be made when it's adequate psychologically, as part of the individul service plan, taking care that other services that the child or the family needs, are maintained and replaced adequatetly.
In the determination of the duration, it is important that the intensive behavioural intervention program begins as soon as possible, after the identification and early diagnostic.
